From The Principal

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

As we approach the end of the year it is difficult to put into words just what an extraordinary twelve months everyone has experienced. To be able to finish the year with our traditional prizegiving celebrations last week was a treat, and it was fantastic to see so many of you at the Primary and College ceremonies.

Despite the many challenges this year, it has been a very successful twentieth year at Strathallan. The government enforced lockdowns necessitated a different way of learning, but our staff and students have demonstrated incredible resilience and managed to achieve so much in all areas of school life.

The 2020 Yearbook showcases the many achievements this year and I suspect it will be one to treasure for many years to come. Mrs. Bennett and her creative team of students have done a tremendous job with the yearbook and I’m sure you’ll enjoy their COVID inspired approach to the format. To complement your holiday reading, you can also access the latest edition of Strata Magazine which will be available online this week.

We are saying farewell to a number of teachers at the end of term and I would like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the following teachers: Preschool – Dorothy Druitt; Primary School – Natasha Luck, Natalie Harbott, Patricia McKelvey, Tilly Pointon and Emily Hampstapat; College – Max Bongartz and Alice Hamilton. They have all contributed to making the school such an enjoyable place to learn and we wish them every success for the future.

At the end of a busy year, I’m sure your children are looking forward to a well-earned break from school and I shall look forward to welcoming them back in the new year looking relaxed and refreshed. If your child is leaving the school at the end of term, we wish them all the very best of luck with their next move. I hope they have enjoyed their time at Strathallan and that they’re leaving with many fond memories.

Thank you for your continued support this year; I wish you and your family a safe and enjoyable summer holiday.
Warm regards,

Danny O’Connor
Executive Principal
