This year Science and Maths teamed up for a whole week celebrating our favourite subjects in week 3. Students and teachers embraced their inner geek with a range of exciting activities such as science demos in the quad, quizzes, Math challenges and competitions.
The week kicked off with the House Mathex which saw McLaren teams win every division. This is always a favourite activity and lots of audience participants also showed their mathematical knowledge in the audience questions. Emerson Chen (yr 13) also ran an interesting workshop on The Fold and Cut Theorem – which explores how to obtain shapes by folding paper and minimising the cuts needed to get the shape. George Hamilton (yr 10) and Dylan Wallis (yr 12) took out the new Rubik’s Cube challenge in Junior and Senior respectively.
The Science experiment demonstrations in the quad were very popular with Mr Benge and Mr Smart showing us how exciting science can be.
