Message from the Executive Principal

Kia Ora Parents and Caregivers,

He waka eke noa
A canoe which we are all in with no exception

Students from across the campus engaged in a range of activities this week to celebrate Maori Language Week. The Language and Culture Ambassadors led an online assembly and many of our students took part in the Maori Language Moment Initiative on Tuesday. Our first ever Kapa haka group performed, and we look forward to this group growing in numbers in the near future.

I had the pleasure of teaching a Year 7 Science class on Wednesday and I couldn’t have been more impressed with their attitude and approach to learning. Having spent the past month in lockdown I thought they might be struggling with screen fatigue but within minutes I was reminded of just how lucky we are to have the staff and students that we have at Strathallan. Their teacher has transformed this class into an amazing group of budding scientists that love learning, and they devoured the knowledge about our solar system and the contributions of Copernicus and Galileo.

My experience earlier this week isn’t confined to Year 7 and there is a similar attitude and approach to online learning that is evident across the campus. Our primary school students are producing some fantastic work online and I was particularly proud of the way in which our senior students tackled their recent online mock examinations. Our teachers continue to do a tremendous job of engaging students online and we are all looking forward to being back in school at some stage soon.

We are currently planning and preparing the ACG Strathallan classes, courses and staffing for the 2022 academic year, and we have the following requests:

2022 / 2023 Enrolments: Any parents of current students who wish to enrol a sibling for the 2022 intake should submit their application as soon as possible, as some year levels are almost full. The online application form is available on our website at:  Also, if you know of any families who are considering applying for 2022 but have not yet done so, please forward the link to them so they are able to submit their application to us directly. Should you have any questions about this process, please contact our Enrolments Manager, Kat Wymer, at:

Withdrawals: Additionally, to enable us to plan for 2022, we do also need to hear from families who have a student (other than Year 13) who will be moving from ACG Strathallan at the end of the year. Please be reminded that it is a requirement of the enrolment contract that parents give the school one term’s notice if their child is withdrawing. Please email our Enrolments Manager, Kat Wymer, at: by 1 October to let us know if your child will not be returning for 2022.
Thank you for your ongoing support, I hope you and your families are safe and well.

Nga mihi,
Danny O’Connor
