Message from the Executive Principal

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Welcome back from what I hope was an enjoyable holiday period with your family. I would like to extend a warm welcome to the new students and families that have joined the school this term. I hope your sons and daughters enjoyed their first week at Strathallan and I look forward to meeting you at some stage this term.  It is my pleasure to also welcome a number of new staff and I’m sure you’ll join me in welcoming the following people to the campus: Nikita van der Mescht (Year 1 Teacher), Carin Reeves (Year 2 Teacher), Fiona Davis (Year 4 Teacher) and Trish Abernethy (Sports Coordinator).

A highlight of the first week back was the welcome return of school assemblies. The College assembly last Thursday was the first time all Year 7-13 students had assembled together since the 29 July last year. It was great to be able to give our new students a proper welcome to the campus, to listen to our superb Jazz Band and to congratulate a number of students on their recent achievements. With a whole school assembly, interhouse jump jam rehearsals, book day and interhouse Cross-country (with parents eagerly watching on), it felt like things have finally returned to normal.

The term ahead is the shortest of the year at just nine weeks, but it will be characterised by the usual high levels of learning in the classroom along with a multitude of sports fixtures, events and activities. The school production is always a highlight of the term so mark the week of the 13-18 June in your diaries. A reminder that regular photos and updates from across the school are posted on our school instagram account by our amazing student media team.

We have our first Open Day of the year this Saturday and you are welcome to bring along any friends that might be interested in Strathallan. They will be greeted with beaming smiles from one of our many student guides that volunteer to share their love of the school with our guests. We are always very proud of our student volunteers, and they are outstanding ambassadors for the school.

Wishing you and your children all the very best for the term ahead.

Warm regards,

Danny O’Connor
Executive Principal
