Message from the Primary Principal

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Happy New Year to you all and welcome back. A warm welcome to our new students and families. I hope you all enjoy your time in the Primary School and as a part of the Strathallan Community. I would also like to extend a warm welcome to our new Teachers in the Primary School, Miss Anais Vergara, Mrs Joelline Speirs, and Mr Liam Shepherd. You can read more about our new staff in this Newsletter.

Thank you for attending our Introductory Interviews recently. These interviews are a lovely way for you and our students to meet the class teacher and become familiar with the classroom environment before the first day of school. Your class teacher will have given you login details for your Class Dojo page. Please login as soon as you can. Class Dojo is used to send school reminders and photos from the school day. However, if you need to contact your class teacher, please do so via email not the message service on Dojo.

Our students are currently setting their individual Term Goals with their teacher’s support. These will be sent home for you to read. Please sign the sheet and return it to your class teacher. Individual goals are set and evaluated by the students each term. Student Portfolios are sent home at the end of Terms 2 and 4 along with formal school Reports. Parent Teacher Interviews take place in Terms 1 and 3.

Our Primary Orientation book has all the information you need to know regarding our uniform, drop off and pick up times, teacher contacts, and day to day procedures. Please keep this booklet on hand during the year and ensure you have read your copy as it contains updates for 2021.

We are looking forward to our Swimming & Water Safety lessons and our School Swimming Sports this term. Detailed information and a permission form will be sent home next week. The Parent Calendar will be shared next week via email. This will include our events and sports dates for the term.

I look forward to seeing you all around our school and at our upcoming events.

Warm regards,

Kristie Thomas
