Dear Parents and Caregivers,
I hope your families are safe and well as we begin Covid lockdown Level 4.
Strathallan Virtual School
Maintaining the continuity of education and support for all our students is a priority. We will follow the same online learning format that was used when the school was closed previously at Alert Levels 3 & 4 with live online sessions Virtual School Online learning between the hours of 9:30am-3.30pm. Should you have any questions, your class teacher will be available through story park or contact:firstname.lastname@example.org
We post our online session times before each virtual learning session begins. We have 3 sessions per day 9:30, 11:30, and 3:00 pm.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents and children for joining our virtual lessons. We have enjoyed interacting with you all via zoom and we look forward to continuing to seeing you next week.
For all our community, we need to keep ourselves and our family safe and it is important that we follow the rules. If you aren’t sure if you have been to a place where someone with COVID has visited – please go to the Ministry of Health website for the ‘Locations of Interest’. Check the date and time of each location listed in the table and if you were there at the same time, go to the right column on the right to see what you need to do.
COVID-19 symptoms can vary a lot with each person, so while we are familiar with the following symptoms:
- a new or worsening cough
- fever (at least 38˚C)
- shortness of breath
- a sore throat
- sneezing and runny nose
- temporary loss of smell.
Some people may present with less typical symptoms such as only one of the following:
- muscle pain
If you or your family experience any of these symptoms, please contact your GP or Healthline (0800 358 5453) for advice and get tested if advised to do so.
Thank you for your continued support in these uncertain times. If there are any updates to these arrangements, we will of course advise you immediately. We ask for your support at this time as we all try and work together through these exceptional circumstances.
It seems hard to believe how quickly this year is passing by and it won’t be long until we are beginning to plan for Christmas. I have had a few questions from parents asking when we propose to close down for the Christmas holiday break. I can confirm that our last day will be the 23rd of December at 1:00 pm and we will re-open on the 10th January 2022. My administrator (Stefania Medas) will send out holiday forms to all parents at the beginning of November.
Olympic Games 2021
Our preschoolers enjoyed learning about the Olympics this term. They had the opportunity to experience a few events set up by their teachers. It was great to observe children enjoying different sports activities and encouraging their friends to participate.
End of Term Parent-Teacher Interviews
The senior and Junior rooms will send out time slots that you can book to meet with your child’s group teacher. During this time teachers and parents will discuss their child’s individual plan and add any other parent aspirations to support their learning journey.
Could you please take the time to read through the below centre policies that are currently under review? If you have any feedback please send this through to Angela.Lunam@acgedu.com
