A reminder to the parents of all Year 11 students that the end-of-year Year 11 Activity days are part of the school year and attendance is compulsory. Please ensure you have the dates on your calendar. All parents should have completed the permission forms on Signmee last term or, if the Signmee email was not received, a paper copy would have been sent home. If you have not completed these documents yet please do so as a matter of urgency.
The dates are Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th November.
This is directly after the last IGCSE examination on the Tuesday.
Students do not have to wear school uniform but please remember that their dress must be tidy and of a good standard as we are off site representing the school. Dress should also be practical for the Wednesday in school for afternoon activities, so skirts and dresses will not be suitable.
The content of the days includes:
Day 1: Wednesday 18th November
We start the day with two presentations from Attitude and by the local Police Youth Officer. These are part of an on-going series of presentations, which comprise one component of our school pastoral programme. In the afternoon there will be a presentation and activity relating to environmental care. More information about the series of Attitude presentations given over the course of years 7-13 can be found at this website – http://www.attitude.org.nz/high-schools/presentations/
Day 2: Thursday 16th November
Students will take part in the RYDA Young Driver Awareness Programme at Bruce Pulman Park, Takanini. We will meet at school and travel by bus to and from the venue. This is a very valuable day, providing information and thought-provoking presentations for young people who are about to start driving on our roads.
